Course Overview:
In emergency situations, seconds matter—and the ability to perform CPR, administer rescue breaths, or operate an AED can mean the difference between life and death. The CPR/AED/BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification Course at ESS Academy is a comprehensive, hands-on program designed to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to respond effectively to cardiac, respiratory, and choking emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

Whether you’re a security officer, executive protection agent, teacher, childcare provider, or simply a prepared civilian, this course meets national certification standards and fulfills the training requirements for numerous professional licenses and employment roles.

Course Objectives:
✔ Recognize and respond to sudden cardiac arrest
✔ Deliver high-quality chest compressions for adults, children, and infants
✔ Perform rescue breaths using barrier devices
✔ Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively
✔ Relieve airway obstruction (choking) in conscious and unconscious victims across age groups
✔ Integrate teamwork and safety protocols in basic life support scenarios

Course Format:

• 3+ Hour Interactive Course

• Combines video-based instruction, live instructor demonstrations, and hands-on skills practice using medical-grade manikins and training AEDs

• Taught by a certified CPR/BLS instructor from a nationally recognized certifying agency

• Ideal for both first-time students and those seeking recertification

Certification Requirements:
To earn the 2-year certification card, students must:

• Pass a 20-question written exam (minimum passing score required)

• Demonstrate hands-on proficiency in:
  • Chest compressions (adult, child, infant)
  • Rescue breathing techniques
  • AED deployment
  • Airway obstruction relief techniques
