Admissions at ESS Academy
ESS Academy is a licensed private career school in Tarpon Springs, Florida, operated by ESS Global Corporation. We train security professionals at every stage: state licensing courses, armed and unarmed credentials, and advanced executive protection programs taught by working practitioners.
How Enrollment Works
- Choose your program. Browse our course catalog. Common starting points are the Class D Security License course, the Class G Statewide Firearm License course, and the Executive Protection programs.
- Apply. Complete the application form below, or call us at (727) 293-5857. An admissions coordinator will confirm your course dates and answer questions the same business day.
- Meet the requirements. Executive Protection programs (EP 3-Day and the EP All-In-One): applicants must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma, GED, or recognized equivalent. Provide a copy of your diploma or GED certificate, a high school transcript, or, for veterans, a DD-214 showing high school completion. If you were educated outside the United States and cannot readily get a copy, you may sign a High School Diploma or GED Attestation. Florida security license courses: students must be at least 18 years of age (21 for Class G) and able to pass the background screening required for Florida security licensure. - Arrange tuition. Tuition is listed on each course page. Payment plans and funding options are described on our Tuition Assistance page, or ask your admissions coordinator.
- Confirm your seat. Once we receive and review your application and proof of high school completion, we send your enrollment packet, including the enrollment agreement and the Student Catalog. Your seat is confirmed when the signed agreement and tuition are in, and you will receive your start date, schedule, location, and what to bring on day one.

- Proof of high school completion for the Executive Protection programs (diploma, GED certificate, transcript, or DD-214)
- Any license or certification required as a course prerequisite (listed on the course page)
